The Dalswinton Bond is situated in the rolling green hills of the Dalswinton Estate in Dumfries & Galloway and, like many before us, we have taken inspiration from these idyllic surroundings. The original Dalswinton Series celebrated the unique location of the bond and exemplified some of the rarest and best liquid each whisky region has to offer. The Second Edition is no different. This series includes a timeline which follows the noteable history of the Dalswinton Estate. Each decanter depecits a significant scene in the Estates’ long and illustrious history. Each individual cask was brought to Dalswinton for the final stages of its maturation in our traditional dunnage style warehouse, Warehouse No 1. After many years of regular monitoring, sampling and evaluation, these jewels have been bottled at their peak to best showcase their elegant, complex and varied profiles.
Every drop of precious liquid in the Second Edition has been bottled at natural cask strength, natural colour and, of course, non-chill filtered to preserve the whisky just as it was when it left the oak cask. Each whisky in this collection has been selected from some of Scotland’s most prestigious coastal distilleries for the quality and world-renowned distinctive character they offer. Every bottle in the collection has been aged for over a generation and bottled at peak.
As with the first series, the design process has been carefully considered and each component created by some of the most experienced and talented individuals in their respective fields, many of whom are local to the Dalswinton Bond.
Each decanter has been meticulously drawn by local illustrator Jamie Stryker and etched into the glass. Presenting the decanter is a manually crafted wooden display box, made by skilled carpenters and suppliers to some of London’s most prestigious furniture retailers. With the labels adding the finishing touch; these were printed on UK produced, premium grade Conqueror paper using traditional printing presses by Solway Print and then laser cut for the perfect finish.
Finally, each bottle comes with a QR code that, when scanned, takes the viewer directly to Claxton’s website where they can discover more about their bottle of whisky and enjoy images and videos of the casks being bottled and labelled at Dalswinton Bond.
All of this, combined with the outstanding liquid in each of the Dalswinton Series Second Edition decanters, completes a truly special whisky experience reflective of the special nature of Dalswinton Bond and the surrounding estate for anyone who is lucky enough to own a bottle.
